At House of Onyx MedSpa in Vienna, VA, neuromodulator treatments such as Botox® Cosmetic and Xeomin® are used to temporarily soften expression lines by reducing targeted muscle activity. These treatments are commonly used in aesthetic medicine to address dynamic wrinkles. Treatment approach and results vary by individual.
Expression lines can become more noticeable over time as facial muscles repeatedly contract during normal expressions such as frowning, squinting, and raising the eyebrows. Neuromodulator treatments are one option used to reduce the appearance of these lines.
House of Onyx MedSpa offers two FDA-approved prescription injectable neuromodulators: Botox® Cosmetic and Xeomin®. Both are used to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles that contribute to expression lines.
Botox® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved prescription treatment used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults. It works by temporarily reducing muscle activity in targeted areas.
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved prescription treatment used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe upper facial lines in adults, including frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. It contains botulinum toxin type A and is formulated without accessory proteins. Your provider determines product selection, dosing, and injection technique based on your anatomy, treatment goals, and clinical assessment.
Important Note: Botulinum toxin products have different formulations, and dosing units are not interchangeable between products.
Neuromodulator treatments may be used to address specific areas of facial muscle activity associated with expression lines.

These uses are not FDA-approved cosmetic indications for every product or treatment area. Treatment decisions are based on provider judgment, patient anatomy, and individual goals.
